Tellus Solutions is Hiring a Scientist(PET Radiopharmacology,Toxicology/Fluorescence,Invitro) Near North Chicago, IL

Job Description:
Purpose:

  • Perform radiopharmacology experiments to support the discovery, validation, prosecution, and interpretation of PET imaging targets in neuroscience.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the evaluation of new and existing PET radioligands using in vitro radiopharmacology techniques including, but not limited to, brain tissue homogenization, radioligand filter binding assays, and analysis of tissue sections by autoradiography and/or fluorescence imaging.
  • Implement existing experimental protocols/techniques to generate consistent, high-quality data.
  • Interpret results and draw conclusions from own multistage experiments, note significant deviations, then suggest, design, and pursue relevant follow-on experiments.
  • Understand relevant scientific literature and apply theoretical framework to solving problems within scientific discipline in a timely manner.
  • Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, and hazardous and radioactive compounds.
  • Communicate key results to team members and project stakeholders verbally and in written form.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education with typically 5 years of experience, or Master's Degree or equivalent education with typically two years of experience.
  • Willingness and ability to work with low levels of radioactivity (e.g. 3H) is required
  • Experience with in vitro biochemistry or pharmacology assay techniques is required, including multichannel pipette-based liquid handling and experience planning and running assays in multi-well plates.
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Excel, and nonlinear curve fitting software (e.g. Graphpad Prism) is required.
  • Fluorescence microscopy experience is a plus.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36.01 per hour

Expected hours: 40.00 per week
